Alexandra Hallowell is a Transportation Planner at the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (Muni). She is 2015 graduate of the Master of City Planning program at the University of California, Berkeley.
She specializes in transportation focusing specifically on pricing mechanisms and transportation demand management. She enjoys hiking around the San Francisco Bay Area, relaxing on the beach in her native Massachusetts, and cooking in her free time. She tweets about transportation, Boston sports, and Turkey (the country, not the bird) at @deathbydolmus.
Her work focuses on American cities but her research includes many international planning projects. She is a 2014-2015 Foreign Language and Area Studies Fellow with a specialization in the Middle East. She was a 2013-2014 Foreign Language and Area Studies Fellow, a 2014 Great Communities Collaborative Fellow at the San Francisco Foundation, and 2010-2011 Fulbright Fellow to Turkey. She is a member of Women in Transportation Seminar, Young Transportation Professionals, and the American Planning Association.
